Rob Purdie is a project management
consultant, trainer and Certified ScrumMaster
with more than thirteen years of program, project and operations
management experience. Over the course of his career, Rob has successfully managed
hundreds of projects, led project management departments, established Project Management
Offices and worked with senior management teams and staff to develop, implement and
maintain strategic plans, processes and best practices.
Rob's career began in computer-based learning, where he instructed student teachers and faculty at Queen's University on the use of Internet technologies in the classroom and educational research. As Project Manager of the Queen's-Bell Technology in Learning project, Rob led roundtable discussions on the uses of information technology with educators worldwide.
In 1997, Rob co-founded Intravenous Communications, an Internet software development and professional services firm, where he contributed to the development of several technological innovations, including a Java-based data visualisation engine, a Java application server and extranet publishing system, and a graphical XML editor.
In 2004, Rob founded Important Projects, a values-based project management consulting and training practice focused on helping social change organisations achieve their strategic goals through the effective and successful management of their most important programs, projects and ongoing operations.
Rob is a member of the Toronto Renewable Energy Co-op (TREC), an avid squash player, a strict vegan and the founder and organiser of Drupal for NGOs.
Rob received ScrumMaster certification from the Scrum Alliance in 2008, PMP certification from the Project Management Institute in 2003, holds a BEd from Queen's University, and a BA in Philosophy and English from Trent University.For more information, please contact Important Projects.
